CONCEPT OF AYURVEDA:
Ayurveda is a natural and traditional system of medicine with historical roots in the Indian subcontinent. It is the ancient traditional form of medicine. The concept of Ayurveda is based on three elements, Vata, pitta, and Kapha. It is believed that the balance and harmony between these three elements are necessary for a healthy life. A disturbance in this harmony is a cause of disease.
Vata dosha is considered to be the main part of life and the disturbance in this leads to conditions like asthma, skin problems, and rheumatoid arthritis. Next comes the Pitta dosha – which controls the digestion and the metabolism of our body. A disturbance in this leads to the development of heart disease, high blood pressure, digestive problems, and infections. The final one is the Kapha dosha – this controls our body growth, strength, weight, and immune system. Breathing disorders, cancer, diabetes, and obesity are the result of a disturbance in this dosha.
TREATMENT APPROACH IN AYURVEDA:
Ayurvedic treatment is unique for each and every individual. The treatment has a holistic approach i.e. physical and mental balance between the three elements and their life force. Their treatment deeply cleanses and detoxifies the body. The process of cleansing is called Panchakarma. Cleansing and detoxifying help the body regain harmony and balance. Ayurvedic medicines are mostly combinations of herbs, spices, and oils. Apart from timely relief it also provides a permanent cure by detoxifying the metabolic toxins present in the body.
