What is Erythema?

Erythrasma is a bacterial infection that affect the skin. It is usually appears in the folds of the skin.

Sign and Symptoms

1) Erythrasma look like a pach of pink to red, scaly skin. The border of erythrasma is well-defined meaning there is sharp border between the affected patch and the surrounding normal skin. 2)Over time, the pink or red color fades to tan or brown. 3)It usually appears in the folds of the skin eg. Under the arms (Axilla) , In the groin and inner thighs., in between the toes especially between 4 th and 5 th toes. 4) less commonly it can be found in the buttock, cervix or in the folds underneath the breasts.

Who's at risk?

1) Individual having diabetes. 2)Live in worm and humid climate. 3)Sweat a lot. 4)Are obese 5)Are older. 6) Have poor hygiene. 7) Have low immunity.

Prevention

1) Keep the skin dry and clean.
2) Avoid excessive sweating if possible.
3)Weare dry and clean clothes.
4) Try to avoid hot and humid areas.
5)Use antibacterial soap to prevent recurrence.

1) Gently scrubbing the involved area with antibacterial soap or liquid.
