What is Abscess?
An abscess is an infection characterized by a collection of pus underneath a portion of the skin.
Causes
Bacteria commonly causeing abscess are staphylococcus aureus and streptococcus.
Sign and Symptoms
1) pain in the affected area.
2)A high temperatures
3) Generally feeling unwell.
Are abscess contagious?
It is not contagious.
Who’s at risk?
1)Individual having a weak immune system.
2) Individual having diabetes.
Prevention
There is no self care options for abscess.
Home remedies
You can try applying a worm compress to the affected area and take painkiller eg. Tab. Ibuprofen ( if you don’t have allergy to it.) to help with swelling and pain.
When to see medical care ?
1)A worsening rede, tender swelling,is spreading rapidly.
Treatment
1) Your doctor may drain the pus and fluid collection by making a small incision.
2) Apply antibiotic ointment as prescribed by doctor and bandaged.
3) Take oral antibiotics as prescribed by Doctor.
