What is Staphylococcal Scalded Skin Syndrome ( SSSS) ?
Staphylococcal Scalded Skin Syndrome is a dermatological condition caused by a staphylococcus aureus Infection.
Cause
This infection is caused by a toxin produced by a bacteria known as staphylococcus aureus.
Sign and Symptoms
1)Early signs
Fever, fatigue, irritation,loss of appetite and a decreased number of wet diapers.
2)Later signs
Blister, peeling skin and skin tenderness or pain.
3)Others sign
Weakness, joint and muscles pain, chills and not feeling well.
Who’s at risk?
1) Children under the age of 6.
2) Individuals having low immunity.
3) Individual having CKD(i.e. Chronic kidney disease).
Home remedies
1) Gently wash the skin with antiseptic soap or liquid.
2) Increase your fluid intake.
3) Reapply sterile bandages over any open wounds.
4) Keep the skin clean and covered.
5) Take prescribed medications on time as prescribed by the doctor.
Treatment
1) Take Oral or IV antibiotics on time as prescribed by the doctor.
2) Apply skin cream or ointment and sterile bandages on the affected area as prescribed by your doctor.
